There are days when one just wants a little simplicity in their day. This Green Tranquility Maofeng is the perfect cuppa with its lovely vegetal and non astringent taste. This makes a nice pitcher of tea that you'll reach for quite often.

Green Tranquility Maofeng is a popular “go-to” tea. A great green tea for an everyday cup with a classic China green tea flavor. The taste is vegetal but not grassy nor astringent.
The leaf style is a good example of a Maofeng and most “cloud and mist” teas. The term literally means “downy summit” and refers to a leaf style that is not too compact, as in Maojian or Hairpoint. The pressure used in making Maofengs is lighter and shorter in duration than in processing Hairpoint teas. Maofengs tend to be looser and have more “open” leaves. This tea is a step up from Gunpowder and Chunmee teas which are baked, rendering the cup more assertive, as can be seen from the orange or dark gold brews, where the Maofeng brews up a golden cup.

Western Infusion:
(1 1/2 tsp (6 gr) to 6-8 oz water)
3-4 minutes @ 176 - 186°F
Number of Western Infusions: 1
Eastern Infusion:
(1 1/2 tsp (6 gr) to 3 oz water)
20 seconds at 186 ℉, add 10 seconds to each infusion
Number of Eastern Infusions: 3
