Lung Ching
TeaCha's Notes:
Quite the delicious organic green tea. Sometimes I get creamy nutty notes. It is so smooth. This has become a new fav of mine, competing with my other favorite green tea, Pi Lo Chun. This cuppa is also great iced and recommend cold steeping.
$3.00 – $100.99
The eastern province of Zhejiang is famous for Lung Ching tea, which has been grown at the western lake Xihu near the city of Longjing ever since the time of the Tang dynasty. Also known as the “Dragon Fountain Tea”, following a legend about a rain-bringing dragon, it was awarded the highest possible title of “Tea of the Emperor”, and the taste gives you an idea why. Light, a little sweet and fruity without losing the classic green tea character, with a really royal temper. This organic quality is carefully dried by hand in pans after wilting and thus receives a flat, emerald-green leaf. Enjoy this wonderful organic version!
Recommendation:
If serving this tea iced, consider using an extra 1 1/2 teaspoon of tea for every 6 – 8 ounces of water to provide more flavor. Melting ice will dilute the blend. You can also cold steep to maximize the flavor by filling a pitcher with the tepid water. Add the suggested amount of tea leaves either in a tea bag or an infuser and put the pitcher into the refrigerator for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Taste the tea and if it’s to your liking, remove the tea leaves and serve.
