Lychee Green
TeaCha's Notes:
From my first sip, this green tea has become one of my top favorite flavored green teas. My refrigerator has been stocked all summer with a pitcher of this incredible tea. The tarty sweetness lingers after each sip which calls me back for more. The Lychee fruit has a similar flavor to the pear with more tartness. This tea is great year round, iced for the summer and hot for the winter. Your kids will love it too. Add a little vodka and you'll have a great cocktail. For wine lovers, it reminds me of a blend of Chenin Blanc and Viognier.
$2.00 – $46.99
This Maofeng green tea enfolds itself in a lush dance around the tart sweetness of the lychee fruit swaying its way to a wonderfully balanced cuppa. It starts out with a tartness that is elegantly smoothed by a bright sweetness. It will definitely have you coming back for more. Delicious served iced or hot.
Recommendation:
If serving this iced, consider using an extra 1 1/2 teaspoon of tea for every 6 – 8 ounces of water to provide more flavor. Melting ice will dilute the blend. Or consider cold steeping this blend. To cold steep, put the appropriate amount of tea and water into a pitcher and let steep in the refrigerator for about 1 1/2 hours. Remove the tea leaves and voila, your tea is cold and ready to drink.
