Bancha – Organic
TeaCha's Notes:
I love the nutty sweet notes along with the earthy and mineral notes this Bancha organic green tea offers. There are times when I just want a cuppa of green tea in the evening with little caffeine. Other than drinking herbals and rooibos there isn't any tea without caffeine. Even decaf tea has at least 10 grams of caffeine in it. I am not a fan of decaf tea as they have to put chemicals into a perfectly naturally beautiful plant to get out the caffeine, which to me destroys the beauty of the natural camellia sinensis (the tea plant). Wind down your day with this delicious cuppa.

For the caffeine sensitive tea drinker, Bancha is the perfect cuppa of green tea. This organic green tea is plucked in the later harvests and is made from mature tea leaves located at the lower part of the plant. The leaves are coarse and have a much more earthy and mineral character. Bancha is gently pan roasted to develop a nutty sweet flavor and a warmer flavor profile. Because of the mature tea leaf and the roasting process, this green tea has less caffeine than other teas. Because of this, the Japanese serve this tea to their children and elderly. Bancha is a very popular every day tea in Japan.
