Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis), is from South Africa. It’s commonly referred to as red rooibos. It has a roasted flavor with a slight tobacco finishing note. Much like the tea plant is oxidized to create black tea, red rooibos is also oxidized creating the roasty flavor.
