Elderflower White
TeaCha's Notes:
I'm absolutely head-over-heals in love with this refreshing white tea. Elderflower has such a captivating aroma and fresh taste. I love how the flavor delicately lingers on my tongue making me remember the calmness it creates. I particularly like this tea hot as the richer fruit notes stand out more and enjoy this all year. I really enjoy pear flavors in the winter time. However, this is a definite "go to" during the warmer months with its refreshing qualities. This can also make a great cocktail by adding a little Monkey 47 Gin. Consider serving this tea with a Lemon Cake or a Rhubarb Upside Down Cake.
Price range: $2.00 through $46.99
Soft and gentle Mudan white tea meets uniquely fresh, fruity, slightly floral elderflower. The delicately light elderflower has notes of subtle pear and lychee creating fresh tropical nuances that dance lightly around the white tea. The aroma of this tea is quite hypnotic.
Recommendation:
If serving this tea iced, consider using an extra 1 1/2 teaspoon of tea for every 6 – 8 ounces of water to provide more flavor. Melting ice will dilute the blend. You can also cold steep to maximize the flavor by filling a pitcher with the appropriate tepid water. Add the suggested amount of tea leaves either in a tea bag or an infuser and put the pitcher into the refrigerator for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Taste the tea and if it’s to your liking, remove the tea leaves and serve.
