Nepal Floral Oolong
TeaCha's Notes:
What I love about this organic oolong is its well balanced oxidation with its lightly floral aroma and its stone fruit notes. The oxidation is longer/heavier than a Pouchong but lighter/milder than a Da Hong Pao. It's the perfect afternoon cuppa to sit down and reflect the moment.
Price range: $3.00 through $100.99
From eastern Nepal, elevation between 4000 to 6000 ft. Silver tips show careful plucking; semi oxidized processing brings out stone fruit notes. Not many oolongs come from this area, so this is quite rare. The leaves are hand rolled.
Recommendation:
If serving this tea iced, consider using an extra 1 1/2 teaspoon of tea for every 6 – 8 ounces of water to provide more flavor. Melting ice will dilute the blend. You can also cold steep to maximize the flavor by filling a pitcher with the appropriate tepid water. Add the suggested amount of tea leaves either in a tea bag or an infuser and put the pitcher into the refrigerator for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Taste the tea and if it’s to your liking, remove the tea leaves and serve.
