Cool Tea Pitcher
Description:
This “Cool” Tea Pitcher makes a great presentation to serve tea. This borosilicate glass pitcher includes a removable stainless steel infuser, a removable strainer to stop the ice from falling into the spout and a lid. It makes 4 cups of tea or 50 ounces of tea. Perfect for the summer. Because of the tempered glass you can make hot and iced tea. See below for steeping instructions. I personally love to use the “Cold” steep as it is so easy to make and also makes a more favorable cuppa as the water hasn’t lost its oxygen from the heat.
It’s food safe and BPA free. Hand wash and easy to clean.
4 x 8.8 inches (10 x 22.5 cm)
Cold Steeping Instructions:
- Fill the appropriate amount of loose leaf tea into the infuser. (1 1/2 teaspoon of tea per 6-8 oz cup of water.) Attach the infuser to the lid. If you plan to add ice to your cold steeped tea after steeping, add an extra teaspoon for each cup as the ice will dilute the tea.
- If cold steeping, fill the pitcher with regular temperature water. Hot water is not needed when cold steeping.
- Place in the refrigerator for 1 1/2 hours. Remove infuser from the lid. You can leave the tea leaves in longer if you like but some teas may get bitter as the longer the leaves are in the water the more tannins are extracted. The nice thing about cold steeping, it’s so easy to make and you can let the leaves stay in over night.
- Replace lid and you are ready to serve. You can add ice if needed.
Hot Steeping Instructions:
- Fill the appropriate amount of loose leaf tea into the infuser. (1 1/2 teaspoon of tea per 6-8 oz cup of water.) Attach the infuser to the lid. If you plan to add ice to your hot steeped tea, add an extra teaspoon for each cup as the ice will dilute the tea.
- Fill the kettle with the appropriate amount of water and heat the kettle to the suggested temperature (indicated in our tea steeping suggestions)
- Fill the pitcher with the hot water. If you are planning to put ice in the tea pitcher, fill the pitcher to about 3/4 of the way full.
- Let steep for 3 minutes (or as indicated in our steeping suggestions.)
- Remove the infuser from the lid. You are ready to serve your hot tea.
- You can now add ice to the pitcher if you want to serve it iced.
- Replace lid and serve.
