Mudan White – Organic
TeaCha's Notes:
With its gorgeous fluffy leaves and its delicious flavor, this organic white tea is a great way to start you on your tea journey. White tea has a slight toastiness with hints of hay. Served hot, experience the delicate but rich toasty notes. Served iced, the hay notes dance around your tongue.
White tea is the least handled/processed tea. After it is plucked it is withered and pan fired to stop the oxidation bypassing the rolling and other processes. White tea is the least oxidized of tea however this does not mean it is lower in caffeine. Take a look at the dry leaf photo you can see the long buds in the center and the larger leaves throughout.
Price range: $2.00 through $46.99
Long silvery tips nestled among classic white peony green and tan-colored leaves. Pale gold brew with a delicate, slight toasty flavor.
Recommendation:
If serving this iced, consider using an extra 1 1/2 teaspoon of tea for every 6 – 8 ounces of water to provide more flavor. Melting ice will dilute the blend. Or consider cold steeping this blend. To cold steep, put the appropriate amount of tea and water into a pitcher and let steep in the refrigerator for about 1 1/2 hours. Remove the tea leaves and voila, your tea is cold and ready to drink.
