Thai Hong Cha – Organic

TeaCha's Notes:
This tea has so much character. The honey and caramel notes rock! To top it all off, it's organic. I just can't get enough! This tea is a great value as it lends itself to multiple steepings.

A rare organic black tea with a fruity, caramel-like bouquet. It’s subtle sweetness and hints of honey make a beautiful fragrant amber cup. The taste is smooth and rich with a lingering sweetness. This tea will make you want to slow down to appreciate complex flavors.

Hong Cha, known as red tea in China (for the amber/ red colored tea liquor in the cup) and black tea in the West (for the dark color of the dried tea leaf).

This organic cultivation comes from the northern Province of Chiang Rai. Ancient trees surround the tea fields where constant rainfall and warm temperatures offer the best preconditions for this rare cultivar. The freshly plucked leaves wither approx. 18 hours. When the withering is complete, the leaves are rolled for another 4-5 hours to produce this incredible flavor.
